How About One Wife and Three Kids?

It has worked great for me!

Of course, a “one wife” policy might cramp Ted's style.

While three children and one wife have been the greatest things that have ever happened to me, that is not the formula Ted Turner (father of five and husband of three) advocates. He believes that because of ‘global warming’ the rest of us need to be subject to a “one child” law.

Mr. Turner – a long-time advocate of population control – said the environmental stress on the Earth requires radical solutions, suggesting countries should follow China’s lead in instituting a one-child policy to reduce global population over time. He added that fertility rights could be sold so that poor people could profit from their decision not to reproduce.

Selling "fertility rights." The thought is sickening.

People are the world's most important resource. It is time we started treating them as such rather than something you would trade like cattle futures.

UPDATE: Tuesday afternoon:  Glenn Reynolds opines:
POPULATION CONTROL IS FOR THE LITTLE PEOPLE: Five-Time Father Ted Turner Calls for One-Child PolicyYou know, I had an idea for a Carl Hiaasen-type novel in which ecoterrorists go around visiting poetic-justice punishment on environmental hypocrites. Alas, I don’t have the talent to pull it off, but I keep seeing real-world examples of the sort of hypocrisy that inspired the concept.
Actually, Carl himself could do it very well but it wouldn't fit with his politics.
