More Snow in the Southern Plains
ADDITION: To parents of 15 and 16-year olds learning to drive. When you have fresh snow or ice, take your student to a giant parking lot when no one is there and have them practice winter driving. I encourage you to actually have them make the car skid (with you in the front seat) under controlled conditions. Then, teach them how to steer out of skids. I did this with my children and found it is far better for their first winter driving to be in safe, controlled conditions rather than in actual traffic.
