24/7 Electricity? That is so "20th Century"...

There is a BBC interview earlier this week with the head of Great Britain's electrical system who celebrates the fact they are going to rely primarily on wind generation by "2020, 2030." When asked what the UK will do when the wind doesn't blow, he answers, "we'll have to get used to consuming it [electricity] when it is available."

The interview is less than three minutes long and is here. The comments about wind come in the last 15 seconds.

So, UK won't have electricity 24/7 in twenty years. What will we be doing in 50 years? Living in caves?
