5:08pm EDT Update
Three supercells, three tornadoes in North Carolina. The northernmost cell contained the tornado that hit Raleigh. We are getting reports of major damage in some parts of the Raleigh Metro area. Tornado signatures indicated by arrows.
UPDATE 5:20pm. Per WRAL TV, 100,000 homes and businesses without power.
At least one metal electrical transmission tower was taken down by tornado.
