The Storm Prediction Center has outlined three areas where severe thunderstorms could potentially occur this afternoon and tonight:
However, I have been watching a region in southern Kansas and far northern Oklahoma a bit to the southwest of SPC's forecast:
There is a weak low pressure system coming out of Colorado. The atmosphere over south central Kansas and far northern Oklahoma is "capped" (meaning clouds/precipitation cannot form). But, if that cap is able to be broken, the storms could be quite severe.
So, if thunderstorms develop later and you live in these areas, please pay attention.
