Damaging Wind Threat Later Today

Yesterday evening, it was Omaha and the surrounding area where nearly 80,000 people lost power due to thunderstorms with very strong winds.

The airmass over the central U.S. is one conducive to thunderstorms with very strong winds and the map below represents the threat of thunderstorms with 60mph or higher winds until 7am CDT tomorrow morning.
NWS forecast, click to enlarge.
There is also an area of potentially strong winds along I-95 from about Raleigh to D.C.  So, I suggest keeping one eye on the weather later today and tonight in these areas.

The weather pattern will be similar tomorrow and I'll have more on that later.
