Oklahoma is #1...
...not only in many of pre-season college football polls but also for having experienced the hottest July of any state since records have been kept.
In addition, Texas and Delaware had their hottest July's ever with Maryland and New Mexico the second hottest. Whew!
The next week looks hotter than average over much of the western half of the U.S., including the west coast which had a cool July.
