Thunderstorms Tonight

Nothing meteorologists like more than thunderstorms and we have them in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas as they converge for the start of tomorrow's High Plains Conference.

The storm below has an "overshooting top" which is a sign of a very strong updraft. That often means hail and, if the updraft rapidly collapses, very strong winds (downburst). The photo below shows an overshooting top across the border in northern Oklahoma. The National Weather Service has a severe thunderstorm warning out for this storm.
