Why I Keep My Car's Gas Tank at Least Half Full

Here is a disaster preparedness tip:  Keep your gas tank at least half full for two reasons,

  • You may need your car for travel.
  • You may want to use your car to power an AC power inverter like the one below. You plug the inverter into the car's cigarette lighter and you can charge a cell phone, your laptop, your uninterruptible power supply, or a small refrigerator (to keep essential medicine chilled). 

The inverters start at about $20.

  1. yay!! unfortunately, my utility bill has gotten of out control and had been turned off in the past. this is good to know and have.
