Mike wasn't a whole lot older than Max and Lyla when a tornado destroyed his kindergaten classroom and he decided to become a meteorologist even before he could spell it. It is a great book to read as a family and it will give you and the children in you life the appreciation for our early warning systems that we have in place today and owe in part to Mike's life's work.
