"Earth Hour" -- Whatever That Is -- Is Tonight

With a large sign that says, "what are you willing to do to save the planet?", tonight is something called "Earth Hour."

Via WattsUpWithThat, Dr. Ross McKitrick has superb commentary.

  1. Mike this is what I wrote to my friends on Facebook. My friends know I have a dry sense of humor.

"Tonight is 'Earth Hour'. For those who plan to shut everything off (usually the lights) for one hour, I will or never have been able to participate. Besides in my logic, I figured when my neighborhood lost power for six days a few years ago due to a devastating ice storm, that is at least 144 hours of credit. Also all the times that the power went out due to a strong thunderstorm and for some there is May 22, 2011. Plus someone has to help the electric company recoup what it loses for those who do participate. So I figured it might as well be me. Yep, I think I am good!"

I love our God given planet, but I do not think this ritual is going to make any difference whatsoever. The things that drive me personally nuts in regards to the earth for example, would be when I see ditches with man-made liter. I do like everything Ross McKitrick said in his article and I especially agree with, "I like visiting nature but I don’t want to live there". Thanks Mike for posting this.
