"A Fascinating Book, Full of Suspense"

Yesterday evening, Anthony Watts posted at WattsUpWithThat about the weekend storm threat. In the posting, he made some nice comments about Warnings:

BTW Mike has a great book about severe weather:
I’ve read it, and I’ve lived and experienced much of what he’s written about in the quest to make forecasting, especially severe weather forecasting, more accurate, timely, and specific. For those of us that prefer practical approaches over the rampant speculation on mere wisps of connections to climate, this book is for you.

Thanks, Anthony!!

As storms swirl this weekend, you might wish to consider picking up a copy of Warnings. It is available on both Kindle and Nook as well as in hardcover. It tells the story of courageous scientists fighting the bureaucracy to create the warning system that saves so many lives and will get a major workout today. The book is an uplifting story about people fighting the odds in order to save lives. Once you read it, you will better understand why storm warnings should be taken seriously.

Here is a review from the Canadian "Night Reader" book blog:

This is a fascinating book, full of suspense, telling it like it is, and a great learning experience without realizing just how much of what you read will stay with you. I highly recommend this book, it opened my eyes to the difficulties people 'in the know' deal with not just occasionally, but on-going in their efforts to keep us all as safe as possible.

If you enjoy this blog, there is little doubt you will enjoy Warnings.
