The above 5-day forecast does slow light rains (less than a half inch) over much of the Corn Belt, that is too light to do much good given the current hot temperatures. Below are actual rainfalls the last 30 days.
Below is the percent of normal for the past 30 days. Bright red = very serious dryness.
There is increasing concern about the size of the 2012 corn crop as a result of the dryness.
