The Ohio Valley Derecho

A "derecho" is a geographically long-lived windstorm and we've had major event the last twelve hours. Courtesy of the NWS is a map of its extent -- and it continues in progress.
Note the measured wind gust of 91 mph!  Hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses are without power.

Here is a map of the reports of winds of 60 mph or more (blue) and 75 mph or more (black) up to 3am CDT.
ADDITION: The map of the derecho was done by Greg Carbin of the NWS's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK. Sorry I initially forgot the acknowledgement.
