Because Isaac is expected to slow where it makes landfall, extreme rainfalls are expected. Below is a map of rainfall as compared to normal the last thirty days. In the blue areas, rainfall has been above normal during that period (scale at right). Given the very heavy rains, the potential for significant to major flooding exists.
Assuming the rainfall placement is accurate, the rainfall will be extremely beneficial from Memphis, north.
