Testimony to the U.S. Senate Versus Scientific Fact

Headline from the current online edition of London's The Guardian:
Christopher Field testified,

"It is critical to understand that the link between climate change and the kinds of extremes that lead to disaster is clear," Christopher Field, a lead author of the IPCC report and director of global ecology at the Carnegie Institute for Science, said in testimony.

This testimony is getting widespread media coverage. According to Google news there are now 131 articles on this subject. There is only one problem: The opposite is true.  Yes, the opposite is true. The "link" is anything but "clear." From Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr.,

Field can present such nonsense before Congress because the politics of climate change are so poisonous that he will be applauded for his misrepresentations by many, including some scientists. Undoubtedly, I will be attacked for pointing out his obvious misrepresentations. Neither response changes the basic facts here. Such is the sorry state of climate science today.

Roger dissects Mr. Field's testimony point-by-point. Please click here. I agree with Roger 100%.
