I was hoping to be able to give you a somewhat confident look at the winter storm prospects for next week, but I am not able to do so at this time.
There is extreme variance in the 7 to 10 day outlook at the present time. Some models are showing a once in a generation blizzard in the central U.S. while others show little or nothing.
Last night's models had the European the farthest south, now it is the farthest north.
My instinct says there will be a winter storm that will start somewhere over the central Plains and then move to the Ohio Valley-Eastern Great Lakes region but I don't know its exact intensity or timing. I do believe that if you are planning to travel Christmas week this threat is worthy of your attention.
Please check back. I'll post details when I start to become confident.
