Today's Blizzard is Not Due to 'Global Warming'

I made a joke on Facebook this morning about how long it would take one of the global warming zealots to attribute the blizzard to global warming. What I didn't know was that it had already occurred (hat tip: Mike Doll).

The Northeast United States has had blizzards for the entire history of the region. Up until now, the all- time record blizzard for Boston occurred in 1978. Below is a graph of world temperatures since 1970. I've placed arrows at the temperatures that existed during the Blizzard of '78 and now.

Obviously, temperatures were cooler in '78. If a comparable blizzard occurred with cooler temperatures then the warmer temperatures of today are not the "cause" of the blizzard that began this morning.
