Severe Weather and Basketball Coverage on the Blog

There will be full coverage of the potential tornado threat Sunday-Monday-Tuesday on the blog as it may develop. Any Wichita State Wheat Shockers' basketball coverage will be in addition to the severe weather coverage.
Via KAKE TV, Wichita State fans already in Atlanta for tomorrow's Final Four game are signing a giant get well card for Kevin Ware plus delivering him a basket of goodies. It is wonderful that Kevin is recovering so well from his horrific injury.

I've had a few complaints about covering basketball on the blog. Sorry, but I'm an enthusiastic fan. It is hard to overstate how much the town loves this team. As I understand it, Wichita State fans have officially purchased 3,000 tickets to the game which probably does not include fans from other parts of the country. The lines at security at Mid-Continent Airport this morning were as long as I've ever seen this morning based on TV news coverage.
At Mid-Continent Airport this morning.

Ever seen a concrete truck decked out like this?

Basketball is very big in Kansas. The Jayhawks have been to the Final Four 14 times, the Wildcats 4 and the Shockers twice. To give you some contrast (not putting them down!) no school from the State of Missouri has ever been to the final four.

If you are just coming to the blog since the Tournament began, here is an explanation of WuShock our unique mascot.

In the Huffington Post, a Wichita State daughter writes about her Wichita State father

So, good luck tomorrow Shockers! They tip at 5:07pm Central against Louisville.
