Updated Tornado Outlook

The warm front (see posting below) has started to move north, so the SPC has adjusted its tornado forecast to the north as well. The hatched area is where major tornadoes are forecast to occur. Some of these may occur after dark, especially in eastern parts of the forecast area.

Keep in mind that 5% is the significant threshold and 15% is relatively high. The probabilities specify the likelihood of one or more tornadoes within 25 miles of any given point. For example, f you live in El Reno, Oklahoma, there is a 15% chance of one or more tornadoes within 25 miles.

If you live in Oklahoma along and south of I-40 and west of I-35, I suggest you monitor the weather closely after about noon today.

Keep up on the weather in the 5% or higher areas today if the sky darkens or thunderstorms start to approach.
