Final Update of the Evening

Here is the radar at 8:50pm CDT:

The storms in southeast Nebraska have a history of damaging winds and brief tornadoes. Those may continue for the next few hours.

The storms south of the red line are starting to show a weakening trend as the "cap" (warm air about 10,000 ft. above the ground appears to be reasserting itself). It was reinforced by the storms over Missouri, something I didn't anticipate earlier. The cap suppresses thunderstorm development.

This will be the last update of the evening.

I still expect major severe thunderstorms with tornadoes in the central Plains tomorrow.
