Snow and Flood Potential Update

Below is the forecast for more than two inches of snow accumulating. Some areas will have more than six inches! Forecasting the amount that actually accumulates is extremely difficult because we are not used to forecasting accumulating snow in May with a high sun angle and warm ground.
By the way, the Eisenhower Tunnel is closed in both directions in Colorado (I-70). As much as 28" of new snow have fallen in the mountains.

Below is the forecast rainfall which will lead to flooding on small streams and rivers.

The extraordinarily strong front continues to move east through the Midwest. There is a 52° temperature range across Iowa!
