Ice Storm Update

Here are the 8pm temperatures:

Temperatures over the DFW Metroplex will be plummeting between now and midnight. Oklahoma City and Tulsa will drop below freezing by 11pm.

Here is some information regarding the storm's timing:

9am CST
The orange shades are ice pellets (sleet). The red shades are freezing rain. Snow is blue and regular rain is blue tones. Although traffic problems may occur, no major icing is expected between now and 9am.

Noon Tomorrow
Rapid icing is likely over western Arkansas. Sleet is forecast to be occurring from the Oklahoma Arbuckles to the Ozarks to southern Illinois.


3pm Thursday
Freezing rain continues to fall from near Mena to Walnut Ridge-Harrison (Arkansas) then up the Ohio River. A large area of sleet continues from the Arbuckles into southern Illinois.

6pm Thursday
As temperatures begin to fall, the ice situation worsens rapidly. Afternoon rush in DFW will be a mess.
