3:45pm EST Winter Storm Update

Here is the AccuWeather Regional Radar at 3:30pm EST.
The first part of the storm is moving out of South Carolina and across eastern North Carolina.

The main event is now in Texas and the southern Mississippi Valley. It will move east and strengthen during the night. Below is the forecast radar (h/t Dr. Ryan Maue) for 5am EST Wednesday. The deep purple is the freezing rain at that time.

Just heard of extremely long telephone rebooking times with an airline that operates in Atlanta and we'll call ATLED Airlines which, along with other airlines, has cancelled thousands of flights. Now that flights are being cancelled, go here for suggestions. Whatever you do, don't go to the airport in the middle of an ice or snow storm. If you are stuck away from home, rebook using a speakerphone in your hotel room (if you must speak to someone) or over the web. Check the red link for details.
