Tornado Risk This Week

This is going to be an active week. 

This afternoon and this evening, there is a tornado threat in the High Plains. Five percent is the significant threshold.

Those initial thunderstorms are forecast by the Storm Prediction Center into a line or lines of thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail. Below is the hail forecast with the hatched area is where 2" or larger hail is forecast to occur.
And, for damaging winds, here is the forecast for tonight:

For Monday, there will be thunderstorms in the central Plains, a very few could be severe.

Tuesday, preliminarily, it looks like a major severe weather event will unfold:

And, on Wednesday, the severe storms move east.
