"The Public Isn't Buying the Climate Line"

Here is an editorial from the Wall Street Journal about attempts to influence this year's primary elections over worries about global warming. Summary: It isn't working.

I'd like to offer some advice to those that genuinely believe global warming is a major problem. Wind energy isn't going to cut it for reasons that are becoming increasingly obvious. Solar is promising. But, if you want to be taken seriously you've got to get behind next generation nuclear. It is the only way to de-carbonize energy without causing huge economic disruption.

Unless you are willing to keep the third-world poor and destroy everyone else's standard of living, nuclear is the only way to go.

Finally, you can't be against every hydroelectric project, every tidal energy project, etc., etc. Far too many of today's environmentalists look like a bunch of hypocrites who personally use private jets while opposing projects that would provide reliable energy at reasonable cost for the rest of us.
