Mexico Hurricane & Potential Flooding Situation in the Southwest

The forecast hurricane is Pacific Tropical Storm Norbert. Here is Norbert's forecast path which is more or less parallel to the Baja Peninsula. It is expected to reach hurricane strength later today and a hurricane warning is in effect for Cabo with the worst effects forecast for tomorrow.

For the U.S., Norbert will be close enough to cause heavy rains over the Southwest.
These rainfall amounts will be sufficient to cause at least localize flooding in Arizona and New Mexico. However, if Norbert should move a little farther north or east, the actual rainfalls will be heavier than currently forecast. So, keep an eye on this if you live in the Southwest.
